Kimberly Coil

Coil's "From Princes to Paupers" program enables students to make connections between disciplines by concentrating on the music, literature, and history of the Romantic Era. Over the course of the program, students assess how historical events, differing philosophies, and economic shifts shape the direction of art, literature, and music. Visiting museums, hosting guest speakers, and studying period dance and music, students create written and oral presentations about the era and share them with their class. The project fosters a deeper and more meaningful understanding of the relationships between the arts and history.
