Davenport’s innovative teaching idea, “Timberwolf TV,” is designed to promote media literacy and creativity with eighth-grade students. This hands-on program enables students to create their own daily newscast. From script writing to pre-production planning, lighting, sound, cinematography and editing to live on-air broadcasts, students have a unique opportunity to explore the creative, fast-paced world of TV production and filmmaking. Throughout the course, the students will learn public speaking skills, storytelling, teamwork, effective communication and problem-solving skills that Davenport believes are essential for success. By providing hands-on instruction in all aspects of video production, the program will empower students to bring their creative visions to life on screen and pursue their passion for filmmaking with confidence and expertise.
