Andrews' "C.O.P.S. (Criminology Offers Powerful Science)" program shows students how much fun science and learning can be by introducing them to the science of police work. Through the program, students work with local law enforcement officers to observe, analyze, and draw conclusions from a simulated crime scene. Using a variety of laboratory equipment and proven evidence-gathering techniques, students record their findings, create a database of samples, and compare and contrast objects, actions, and phenomena. The program gives students the tools and training it takes to meet the challenges of real science, in a real context, for real meaning.
