Karen Evans

Evans' "HY-CHEM" is an intensive nine-week project in which students function as chemistry lab technicians. Using lab manuals, students work individually and at their own pace, collecting, interpreting, and analyzing data. Familiar subjects are covered as well as new ones that allow acquired chemistry knowledge to be linked to more in-depth lab concepts. The project prepares students for college-level lab work and gives them a taste of what a career as a research chemist might be like.
