Joseph Troxel

Troxel’s innovative teaching idea, “Computer Hands-On Lab Update,” gives students the advantage needed to excel in today’s information technology (IT) environment through a hands-on experience in a computer lab. Troxel’s students are currently at a disadvantage because the available hardware, including networking components and equipment, are 25 years old. To stay up to date with current tools, Troxel will use the Voya Unsung Heroes grant to purchase new computer hardware and equipment for his IT Essentials and Networking classes that better represent today’s IT support environment while also providing content for national certification exams, such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network + and Cisco CCNA.
