Jonathan Woodward

Woodward's "History Notes" project allows students to use music as a medium to improve technological, listening, historical, and thinking skills, rather than using rote memorization. Through the project, students analyze historical events as they correlate to music, such as "We Shall Overcome" and the Civil Rights Movement or "La Bamba" and Hispanic culture. Additionally, students enhance technology skills by creating and improvising their own music using computers and completing lessons that require them to navigate through different computer programs and the Internet as they learn about the history of music.
