Lotter’s innovative teaching idea, “Tablet: Hands on Healthy Learning,” is designed to lead the transformation of teaching and learning by using the technology tools of tablets in the health and physical education classroom. Students will have opportunities to practice 21st century, global citizen skills as they join the mobile device world of today. Students will be able to use their multiple intelligence learning styles and be actively engaged in authentic, real life and relevant learning as differentiated instruction is integrated. Students will have regular opportunities to use technology and develop skills that encourage personal productivity, creativity, critical thinking and collaboration. Through this program, students will now be able to use technology in their quest to become health literate. Ultimately, the goal is to create life-long learners of health information that will enable students to live healthy, productive and full lives.
