The group’s innovative teaching idea, “Writing in a Snap,” involves students creating a digital portfolio using an app called Bulb, and blog about their reading and writing in order to share and receive feedback from the community via Chromebook. Students will use apps on the Chromebooks to support their writing such as Co-Writer and Snap & Read to improve revising and editing, which would be impossible with merely paper and pencil. Students will independently create writing that is engaging to the intended audience and that is personalized to their experiences while being able to collaborate with their classmates to improve their paper through peer editing. As students work independently, the teacher will individually collaborate with each student on the voice they display in their paper. The ultimate goal of the project is to provide an unparalleled, high quality learning experience for the students.
