Griffin’s innovative teaching idea, “Talk, Talk, Talk,” is focused on allowing high school junior and senior students from the Career Center's Radio Broadcasting program to select, record, edit and distribute audio recordings of 50 popular children's books to the 43 elementary schools in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County school system. The recordings will be made available to each student in grades K-5 through each school's Media Center, so children can read along with the recordings as they work to improve fundamental literacy skills, as well as develop an early appreciation for the spoken word and the oral tradition. Griffin believes that these recordings will enable the students’ reading, speaking and understanding to be fundamentally grounded, so that those who "could not" will see themselves as children who "can."
