Jeanne Muzi

Muzi’s innovative teaching idea, “4 Seasons Outdoor Learning Lab,” focuses on transforming underused land on the Slackwood campus into an innovative, flexible space that will include an outdoor classroom, native plant garden, a STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) stroll, butterfly garden, inspirational arts activities, environmental stations and more. These customizable spaces will give K-3 students opportunities to engage in hands-on, outdoor learning experiences focused on encouraging creative problem-solving while strengthening cross-curricular critical thinking. In addition to creating a strong academic foundation, Muzi hopes the project will also promote students’ social emotional competencies and enhance wellness.
