The team’s innovative teaching idea, the “Make Today Pretty Project,” is a way to showcase the hard work of the students by taking them out of the classroom and into the hallways and grounds to beautify their environment. The project is a compilation of projects from staff members and students that includes small efforts like revitalizing some of the outdoor picnic tables, painted murals, and implementing a Be Nice campaign with positive signage and fresh colorful paint on structures. They have begun painting a greenhouse and will be cleaning and fixing the community fossil pit and garden boxes. The team hopes to expand the efforts to positive visualization on bathroom stalls with vibrant paint and vinyl decals and have students plant flowers, freshen up their "front yard", add swings, and help refinish the remaining picnic tables. The goal is to help create a space where the students don’t feel forgotten and make them feel proud of their campus by helping to make it shine.
