Stith’s innovative teaching idea, “Breaking Out of the Classroom,” focuses on creating breakout spaces in common areas of the school. These breakout spaces, developed with the resources from the Voya grant, will include standing-height tables, drafting-height chairs, electrical outlets, and whiteboards. These updated, formerly under-utilized common areas will create spaces that can be used by any teacher or student to enhance learning, serve as breakout areas, or used to enhance traditional classrooms.
