Arnold’s innovative teaching idea, “Print Across Careers,” will allow students to print essential items for various projects across the course of the semester in 3D with the purchase of a 3D printer with her Voya grant funds. Each student will have a chance to print an item that is necessary to the career that he/she is most interested in. The idea is that most careers in our society require STEM. 3D printing is one of the newest and most innovative tools where STEM is being used across all curricula. The ‘new and cool' often gain the interest of the students who understand technology sometimes more often than the educators. She hopes that 3D printing helps her students in her Keystone, a career development class, become interested in STEM and also helps them understand that STEM is a part of every career. Ultimately, she hopes 3D printing can visually integrate STEM into every career.
