Ginger Louden

Louden’s innovative teaching idea, “Voices from our Heroes,” is focused on introducing students to veterans who live in the Lisbon, North Dakota Veterans’ Home and creating a student-produced movie based on their interactions. The students will apply a broad range of skills and learn about history, language arts, interview etiquette, researching, project management and movie-making with the latest digital media technology. They will also plan a social event for the veterans to watch their movie. As part of the learning process, Louden will have students research and compare the major U.S. military conflicts dating back to World War II, so they can understand what it was like serving in these different eras and how things have changed over the years. She believes it is important for young people to listen and appreciate what past generations have done for their country.
