Gannon Albrecht

2019
Hopkins, MO
North Nodaway High School

Albrecht’s innovative teaching idea, “zSpace AIO,” is a windows-based computer with enhanced features to allow hands on participation in augmented and virtual reality learning experiences for his science students, grades six through 12. He’ll utilize zSpace AIO, purchased with the Voya grant funds, in high quality, daily lesson plans to inspire student creativity and learning. Additionally, he’ll use a zView and camera to connect this zStation to a projection system for whole-class demonstrations. Students will not just be able to read or see science, but they will actually be able to apply and manipulate it. Albrecht is the only science teacher in his small, rural school district. He hopes to inspire his students’ curiosity and build their confidence in STEM and CTE (Career Technical Education) fields, engaging them in relevant, life-like experiences.
