The Wheeler School
Today's youth are surrounded with music in many different forms. Cardoso's idea to upgrade the music production and engineering curriculum at The Wheeler School seeks to encourage students' love of the music styles of their choice. Currently, the school offers a course that teaches students in grades nine-12 how to record, mix and produce music using the latest industry tools. By adding Cardoso's program class, "Music Production and Engineering Curriculum", students will be able to use the Digidesign Pro Tools and Logic Pro 7 software packages. From there, students will delve deeper into the recording, mixing and editing processes. They will also learn how to capture and create sounds that can be later integrated into scoring and filmmaking which will add depth to their learning experiences. The individual music preferences of the students will be utilized such as hip-hop, heavy metal, or a movie soundtrack which makes the project more personal. It will allow students to experience diverse musical art forms as they share the creations with other students. Cardoso resides in Boston, MA.
