Pike View High School

"Mending By Minors" is the name of Foust's winning program. Its purpose is to apply the lessons learned in the family and consumer science class with an emphasis on entrepreneurship. Through this program, students will offer mending and repairing services for students, teachers, parents and any other person in the community for a minimal charge. From sewing on buttons to repairing snags or rips in clothing or other materials, Foust's students will be ready to help. This program allows students to develop specific sewing skills that can be marketed to generate income as well as provide a service to the school community and the community at large. Ultimately, students will develop leadership, communication and personal skills for future success in the business world. Foust, a family and consumer science instructor, resides in Princeton.
