Doris Baskett

Baskett created "Black Male Winners" (BMW) as a delinquency prevention program. Targeting underachieving black male students in fourth through sixth grades, BMW joined elementary students, Coker College, local businesses, parents, and community leaders in activities that provided enriching experiences. Students visited the Martin Luther King Center, Blacks In Wax Museum and Washington, D.C. All activities were organized to be motivational as students learned about African American successes.
