Robbins' "Rovers: Teaching the Future" project engages teams of eighth grade students in the design of a programmable rover. After building a rover from Legos, students equip their creations with motors and use Robo Lab software to program the rovers with the ability to move. Students determine the purpose of their rover and program it to perform a specific task. This project teaches teamwork, problem solving and useful integration of technology. Parents, teachers, administrators and community members are invited to view the rovers in action and are encouraged to participate.
