Susi’s and Buys’ innovative teaching idea, “Design Heritage & Circular Engineering,” will examine the history, culture, economy and life cycle of products through the lens of fashion and design. This project will focus on the principles of design, sustainability, advertising and marketing strategies, and fashion trends throughout the years. Students will study design heritage and will explore “circular engineering” concepts to assess and optimize the life cycle of products. Through this project, students will learn how design relates to consumerism; explore geographical studies with respect to fashion; and realize its impact on human rights.
