Darby’s innovative teaching idea, “Winning with Learning, A-Z,” will benefit all students with the goal of preparing them for testing and a future STEM-related (science, technology, engineering and math) vocation. The program presents customizable online education with Common Core language-arts and science materials foundational to STEM. Materials are updated multiple times throughout the year. Early program results give hope that reading comprehension and science skill and interest could exceed expectations using interactive lessons and dynamic activities. When readers go online, they will have academic vocabulary words, grade-level book assignments and science concepts being taught with grade-level texts. A Learning A-Z subscription for fourteen classrooms for up to 500 students in science, reading and vocabulary will be implemented through this program.
