Debbie Wallis

Wallis' "Magellan: Underwater Edventures" is a submarine simulation program for K-6 students, who undergo preparatory instruction in science, math, and environmental issues. The project teaches basic operations of submarines and how to use technology effectively to complete the mission's goals. Students also explore concepts in oceanography, ocean topography, and ecology applicable to their grade levels. The project imaginatively blends science, math, and drama as it lets students watch the magic of ocean currents, plate tectonics, and weather patterns unfold.
