Dawn Schroeter

Schroeter's "T.H.A.N.K.S." project (Technology Helping And Nurturing Knowledge in Students) helps Special Education students build academic and social skills by using video technology. By viewing video tapes of themselves and receiving positive reinforcement, learning-disabled students are shown ways to recognize strengths and weaknesses and monitor their own behavior. The tapes also help parents better assist their children at home by demonstrating teaching methods and skills used in the classroom.
