Galloway's proposed program, "Tiger Biz", is designed to provide a real-life vocational experience for students with disabilities at A&M Consolidated High School through a school-operated printing and bulk-mail business. The objective is to create an opportunity for students with disabilities to cultivate skills that will allow them to live as independently as possible after graduation. From operations and maintenance to ordering supplies and managing finances, students will explore their interests and talents in a structured environment. According to Galloway, the business will be run by the special needs students with the ongoing support of a teaching staff and the senior economics students who will provide peer mentoring. Together, the students will create a business plan, establish an organizational structure, elect officers, and determine operational procedures. The pilot program will initially benefit approximately 50 students, but the ultimate goal is to engage the 150+ students who are currently receiving special education services at A&M Consolidated High School. Galloway resides in College Station.
