Hodgson's winning program, "Inquiry Workshop," was designed to help students think clearly, communicate ideas effectively and work well with other people. The program creates a junior high-level literacy and social study program based on the inquiry circle model. In this model, students work collaboratively in small groups to research their own questions, present their research findings to their peers and take action on issues of concern. The new program reframes traditional English language arts and social studies curriculums to pair inquiry and literacy together. Hodgson's hopes his program will inspire kids to become more confident and strategic readers who read with a purpose and with great attention to comprehension. Hodgson lives in St. Paul.
