Gato's project, "Exploring Earth's Biomes - A Virtual Tour of Real World Ecosystems" uses computer technology to virtually transport seventh-grade students around the world to view and research the climate, animal life, and limiting factors of each of the earth's major terrestrial biomes and mankind's impact on them. The students will then produce slide presentations to show to their classmates. By working together, the students learn teamwork. And since many of the students have not traveled more than 50 miles from their community, the project gives them a vision of their places in the world and how they can affect the biological future of the planet.
