Darrah Moros

Moros’s innovative teaching idea, “Thematic Learning: Language Development,” is focused on increasing students’ oral language development and academic success, especially for English Language Learners. Moros will provide more meaningful opportunities for students to practice with language throughout the day by linking content through thematic learning. Students will have access to themes while they are reading and writing and studying science, social studies and mathematics. Moros’s unique teaching approach will provide the context students need to make connections, build understanding, develop social skills, explore deeper opportunities for language practice, and experience excitement around the themes they are learning. This excitement will lead to higher levels of motivation for students and increased academic success.
