Criss Moreno

Moreno’s innovative teaching idea, “Shortening the Digital Divide,” is designed to further integrate technology into the curriculum and enhance student learning, decreasing the digital divide between underserved public school students and those in more affluent areas of Los Angeles. Currently, students at 112^th Street STEAM Academy have access to computers only twice a week for one hour each day. Through this project and the purchase of a set of Chromebooks for the classroom, Moreno will be able to leverage digital content in the classroom, exposing students to rich knowledge beyond the classroom walls, hoping it will lead to more student engagement that will positively impact the learning experience.
