The team’s innovative teaching idea, “Full STEAM Ahead!” is focused on building a STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) lab for the high school students, in which students will be able to conduct experiments and work through applications of the math concepts that they are learning in their math classes. The teachers envision students at all levels working collaboratively on the same lab to enhance their diverse backgrounds. By experiencing real-life applications of math, the students will be able to explore math the way true mathematicians do — in its true form, not just as a bunch of numbers, rules and formulas.
