Roehl and Jones’ innovative teaching idea, "Techno Geeks," is focused on completing a series of project-based learning activities, known as LEGO Education Solution Sets, designed to provide students with the opportunity to develop STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) skills. Students will solve design problems related to the curriculum in the second grade for science, technology and math, as well as the Engineering Design Process and the Engineering Habits of Mind. The series of year-long challenges will benefit students by equipping them with concrete examples and real life experiences that will enable them to make sense of concepts across the curriculum and outside of the classroom. The activities will interweave skills from across the curriculum while employing LEGO's "4C Approach to Learning: Connect, Construct, Contemplate, Continue".
