Glavin’s innovative teaching idea, “Making Coding Hands On,” is focused on introducing students to the world of technology and coding in an interactive and engaging manner to inspire students, especially young woman, to become leaders in this field. While students love the online coding programs, Glavin plans to go beyond the computer and use hands-on activities so students can see their coding efforts come to life. She will purchase coding kits where students can build actual robots and write code to make them move. By bringing the world Glavin talks about in the classroom to life, she hopes it will ignite students’ intellectual curiosity in coding and interest in similar technology-based careers.
