Horras created the " Heirloom Community Garden " project based on Juan Diego Catholic High School 's motto " the Spirit of Giving." Students, teachers, and parents will work together to design, install, and maintain an Heirloom Community Garden on the Skaggs Ca tholic Center campus. The produce from this garden will be of heirloom varieties and will be harvested with portions sold at the local farmer's market, and donated to St. Therese's Food Bank and the St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen for needy families. The revenue from the sales will go toward sustaining the garden for years to come. This program offers a distinct opportunity to learn by hands-on demonstrations regarding horticulture and environmental issues. It also incorporates service learning, which instills upon the students a sense of social responsibility. Horras resides in Sandy.
