Charlene Bressler

Bressler's "Lessons in Life" is an interdisciplinary program designed to help eighth grade students develop knowledge and skills they'll need in the future. The project, led by Bressler and seven other educators, connects concepts in math, English, science, art, social studies, and religion and shows students how to apply them to real-life situations. For example, students might apply mathematics to calculate the net income from a job they researched and wrote about during the English section and use spreadsheets to create a budget and balance checking accounts. The inquiry-based project helps students mature and prepares them for challenges they'll face later in life.
