Charla Bunker

Bunker's "LAB (Learning About Biology)" project allows students an opportunity to explore science through a hands-on laboratory in the school's courtyard. Consisting of seven lab centers, the project features a paleontology pit, insect garden, bird habitat, pond ecosystem, weather station, memorial/honor garden, and an agriculture/soil station. Providing each student with at least two live lab experiences per month, students design and conduct scientific investigations using appropriate tools and techniques to gather, analyze, and interpret data. The project teaches students to think critically and logically, to make relationships about what they observe, and to communicate effectively.
