Greenwald's "WillowCam" project engages first through fifth graders in the production of weekly video broadcasts, delivered over the school intranet, that include news reports, weather forecasts, and information about upcoming school and community events. The project, led by Greenwald and four others, involves students as interviewers, story writers, anchors, weather-persons, set designers, and crew; students begin in one role and rotate to others. Rapport among the different age groups is built through a Broadcast Buddies Program. As students collaborate on the project, they develop technical, writing, and oral communication skills.
