Cathy Camargo

Camargo's "Health and Literacy Newsletters" project promotes literacy and awareness of current health issues by having ninth graders publish and circulate quarterly newsletters throughout the school community. Students research the health topics and write, proofread, and edit the articles. As they use desktop publishing programs, they also learn valuable computer skills. In addition to developing students' writing and technical abilities, the project gives the school community, parents, and guardians useful health information and tips.
