John Tuck Elementary
Caramella's winning program idea, "Animation Connection," integrates math, social studies, science, art and language arts curricula through the use of technology. The program, which she claims is the only one of its kind east of the Cascade Mountains, provides an opportunity for students to create video animation. The students will learn the elements and skills that are needed to create an animated show including: choosing a subject and concept, writing, and illustrating a story and bringing it to life. They will be able to exercise their creativity and work together towards a common goal. The completed shows will be aired through the school network and at the Annual School Festival where parents and the community can view the films. The overall experience is designed to give students a sense of teamwork, empowerment, and a connection to the community. Caramella lives in Redmond.
