Carolyn Streets

Streets’ innovative teaching idea, “STEM Vocabularians,” is a program based on the foundation of improving students’ vocabulary, a key indicator of students’ success in school. STEM Vocabularians will be a model program as it conceptually aligns with student growth model frameworks and confirms the fundamental goal of education that all students can succeed. This project will use a known word-learning platform, e.g., Vocabulary.com, to support students’ achieving tier two (high frequency/multiple meaning) and three (low frequency/content specific) vocabulary to nurture a culture of word learning and improve reading comprehension.
