Carol Conway

Conway's creative writing students undertook "Project Empowerment," writing and publishing a book of short stories. Called "Adventures in the Hood: The Real Heroes," the book is for and about children who overcome adversity by making wise choices. The students learned about life in shelters and low-income housing, improved their academic skills such as writing, and learned social skills such as respect.
