Clinton Park Elementary
Taylor teamed up with other teachers at the school including Grace Harris, Naomi Jones, Louise Miley, Lisa Oswalt and Trenia Reynolds to create the "We All Live Together" project. The program is designed to help special education students, many of whom have limited verbal language and social skills, and varying physical disabilities, build awareness of the people and places in their community while helping them learn to participate in important basic social activities. Students participate in hands-on activities such as identifying different jobs in the community, sorting money and buying items in a "class store," role playing common community interactions and going on field trips. The program helps students learn to interact with their peers and build confidence for public situations, while also helping members of the community learn to be aware and understanding of individuals with special needs.
