Hoitt's Dramatic Discoveries project provided students an opportunity to explore their own cultural history and the cultural history of their community, incorporating it into dramatic productions. By studying their past, researching their community history and interviewing members of their community, students learned of the rich histories that are a part of each of them. After completing their research, they wrote plays based on what they discovered.
