Caity Schneeman

Schneeman’s innovative teaching idea, “Cardozo Theatre Program,” focuses on creating an extracurricular theatre program at Cardozo Education Campus that culminates with an after-school musical production. The goal of the program is to introduce students to enriching arts opportunities, while providing a thriving, positive, safe space to experience the arts. Designed to be entirely student-led, it includes the recruitment of student participants and staff support, auditions, daily rehearsals, behind-the-scenes production of set, lights, sound, publicity, and finally, the performance. Schneeman spearheaded a successful theatre program at KIPP DC, a charter school network, and through this program, is replicating a similar one at Cardozo.
