Bruce Mathiowetz

Mathiowetz created the "Agriculture Biotech Classroom (ABC) Trailer" in an effort to increase student and public interest in the agriculture around them. He and a team of dedicated students will work together in the creation of a mobile classroom designed to promote the fun side of agriculture. Initially, 15-25 students will develop the first round of displays. Once those are completed, 30-50 students will serve as teachers to local children and the general public that visit the trailer. In addition to being a classroom, the trailer will also provide storage for additional displays, so that a multitude of displays can be rolled out with each stop. The trailer is currently scheduled to make 8-10 appearances in the first year of operation. In addition to promoting the importance of agriculture in the community, the program will allow students to develop a deeper understanding of materials they learn in the classroom and pass their lessons on to o thers in the community.
