Brittany Bunting
Bunting’s innovative teaching idea, “Physical Education & Technology,” is designed to promote innovative learning by providing opportunities for goalsetting, self-assessment and creativity related to individual, paired, and group activities through personalized physical fitness plans. Students will be aided by technology such as the Optic Heart Rate Monitor, which will give them the ability to track their average and max heart rate, exercise, and calories burned. Using the heart rate monitor in concert with Chromebooks, students will be able to analyze their individual fitness data to set goals to improve or maintain their health. Additionally, while working in the cognitive, affective and psychomotor learning domains, students will develop skills such as observing, visual thinking, and pattern recognition. Bunting hopes students will develop positive habits while practicing and persevering through trial-and-error problem-solving.
