The team’s innovative teaching idea, “Recycled Computers 4 Students,” is focused on refurbishing donated computers and providing them to children in lower income families who may not have access to computers at home, yet require them to complete their studies and keep pace in our digital society. The students involved in the project will learn about computer hardware and maintenance, business networking, project planning, computer design, budgeting and giving back to the community. Students also will be able to see how a project evolves from start to finish -- beginning with the planning and development phases -- all the way to the completed product. The team is extremely proud of the fact that the project is truly student-inspired. Students saw the need and recognized that they had the ability to contribute to a solution. This not only reinforces the theories they are learning in the classroom, but it also shows the students how they can provide a much-needed resource to their community.
