Pinnacle Middle School

Osmon’s and Agley’s innovative teaching idea, “Outdoor Learning Lab,” is designed to inspire student learning and exploration through outdoor, hands-on activities and experiments. Because all Pinnacle students have dyslexia or other similar learning differences, they need visuals and hands-on activities to understand and retain information. Using real-life materials and projects helps them remember and later retrieve and use what they have learned. The lab will allow students to discover natural phenomena by making first-hand observations. In addition to housing some natural habitats, including a pond and forest, the school's seven-acre property has the potential of having many other outdoor features.
