Hamil's "Reflection-Connection" project gives students and teachers an opportunity to work together to strengthen learning. They videotape lessons, field trips, and special activities, analyze the particular teaching/learning experience, and reflect on what adjustments could be made in the future to maximize results. Videos are provided to parents so that they can be kept informed about their children's learning environment and give feedback when necessary. Older students also create multimedia presentations for parent-teacher meetings. As they work with teachers and parents to improve learning, students develop cognitive thinking strategies and teamwork skills.
