Beth Glascock

Glascock's "S.A.I.L." (Scientific Adventures in Learning) project increases third-grade students' achievement in the areas of science and language arts by correlating the two disciplines. Each quarter, the students investigate a science topic in depth. Background and preparation for the investigations take place through expository readings on the selected topics. Students also keep journals about the readings and investigations, engage in related creative writing exercises, and share what they've learned with parents on Family Science Night.
