Barbara Hosey

Hosey's "Parent & Teacher Mathematics Resource Library" supplies teachers at Beauvoir with math "manipulatives" and materials to offer students hands-on learning experiences. Manipulatives are concrete activities that help students connect with the more abstract vocabulary and symbols of mathematics. The library is also available to parents so that they may better help their children learn at home. The project helps build a strong foundation from which students can progress to higher levels of thinking and reasoning.
