Ashley Kesterson

Kesterson's "Travel Agent" project lets students act as agents and put together tours that are "sold" in exchange for aluminum cans. By receiving payment for the tours, students earn points that add up for an end-of-the-year "fun day." Tours consist of at least four destinations, a brochure, a price for the tour (in cans), an accounting system and payment plan, and a job for each member of the agency. Students work together to learn about faraway places and explore the value of recycling along the way.
